Who's bright idea was this?

Words with friends the board game?!?!

I'm pretty sure it's called scrabble!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!

I wish I got to dress up this year, but we had nowhere to go and so it's silly to dress up at home. I wanted to be a ballerina this year and make my own tutu. Maybe next year. I've seen some great ideas on Facebook. So sad.

Oof!

My poor credit card! I've bought 3 flights this billing cycle alone. And a 4th during the last one.

San Diego
Salt Lake City
Brussels
Philadelphia

I still have Colorado Springs and perhaps Denver to buy for in may and July. Definitely racking up the miles for next year. Now to pay for all these flights. At least it will seem less painful next year when all the other charges for Europe go through.

In a mood

I'm in a terrible mood today and just want to rip the head off of whoever I happen to be speaking to. Seriously, no patience for anyone.

Bummed

I hate how I get so bummed out when disappointed about things that aren't going to happen. For example, last night the hubster and I were going through tour books for a little research for our vacation and I noticed that the Belgian Grand Prix is early September during our trip. A google search said we would be in Belgium for the race, but more research said we would be a week late. I was disappointed because I knew the hubster would have loved to see it and I wouldn't have minded to see a unique event like that. Boo, we'll find something else to do.

Bats

We have a resident bat at work and I found him on the ground on Thursday. He was frantically trying to get off the ground. After several attempts, he made it, but he started circling around and thought he was trying to poop on me. Great way to get me in the Halloween spirit.

Maybe a little early

But time to start researching...

5th anniversary preparations

So it's started.  The hubster and I have always talked about going to Europe and we finally are going to be able to next year.  It coincides with our 5th anniversary.  Holy crap, 5 years married!  The most exciting part...how we are getting there.

Business class all the way baby!  When we first decided on going to Europe, we both decided we wanted this to be a big trip and we would spare no expense, so first class it was.  I've been trying to finagle and come up with a way to do it as cheaply as possible even though money was no object for this trip.  I had just earned Silver Status on Delta and that comes with certain upgrade benefits, but they don't extend to transatlantic flights, boo.  Besides, those upgrades are always a gamble and we wanted guaranteed comfortability.

So next option was to use my miles which I just had enough for a low tier business ticket and buy my own ticket.  I researched and researched on ways to game the system and was running into some success.  First off the list was that low mileage awards tickets were available in the time frame we wanted, but the same ticket was going to cost over $5000.  Hmmm, not so economical.  It was actually only $100 more expensive if I bought two cheaper first class tickets.  I did more research and tried different cities to fly into which was the big eye opener.  We didn't have to fly into Paris.  With the European train system, we had a lot of options. I looked into Amsterdam and Frankfurt and finally found luck with Brussels.

I stumbled randomly on a low fare sale to Brussels which matched up with a low mileage awards and voila, two business class tickets to Brussels for two weeks for the great price of $1700!  That's the same cost as two coach tickets!!  You can't believe how happy I am.  Seriously, there could have been tears.  The only downside if I can even call it that is that the first class seats might not be the lay flat beds.  Wah Wah...

But I have read that they are slowly upgrading the planes and have read some blogs that our particular flight has had one of the modified planes.  So keeping my fingers crossed.

Next step, buy some travel guide books, decide what to do and where to stay.

Europe here we come ... (in 10 months)!

The little things

Trigger some big memories. For example,

These are my writing utensils at work. Black pen and a mechanical pencil with magenta highlights. I happen to notice the color combination last week during a meeting and it reminded me of my first intramural soccer team which jump started my travel soccer career. We were hot pink and black and were called the shooting stars. Ah the 90's!

It took a lot of convincing to get my parents to sign me up so I could play with my best friend and neighbor. I turned out to be a decent soccer player and played defense. We went undefeated that season. I played one more intramural season before moving up an trying out for a travel team. Soccer and dance really set the foundation for my awesome athletic skills. Thanks mom!

Almost 30 and definitely feeling it

So I've done two division 1 fall ball playdays this fall and each time I've had to do 5 games and each time I've been exhausted. Barely able to finish the day. This is a first for me. I'm beginning to feel my age or I need to do a better job staying in shape. Either way, I'm beginning to find my limits and its not fun.

My calves are killing me, but pretty much both my legs are sore.

Hallelujah!

I woke up this morning way earlier than I wanted to ref at OSU for their fall play day.  On a side note, D1 lacrosse is fast and these girls do not drop the ball... like never.  Anyway, I didn't come home until around 4:45/5:00 pm.  But guess what was not home when I pulled up?    The Tiburon!!!

The hubster had one month to sell the car from when he bought Elsa.  Well, he was a week late, but it's gone!!!!  I pulled up to the house and I noticed that the Tiburon was gone and the garage door was open.  I thought to myself maybe someone was taking the car for a test drive.  Turns out someone was taking it for a permanent test drive.  Not only did they buy the car, they came all the way from West Virginia to buy it!  So glad that the car is gone, now for the next one...

Cap City Meet Chciago

Travelled to Chicago this weekend for the Chitown Classic.  We went 2-0-1, but we should have won all of them.  I had 4 goals and a pretty good record on draws.  We played very well and it was a great/tiring weekend.

Weak Hips

I think I need to start doing my PT exercises for my weak hips.  After playing and reffing this weekend, my hip flexor is screaming at me.  I just did three of those exercises and my hips/butt feel sore, but everything else feels a little bit better.  Is that normal or is it just my brain playing tricks on me?

Time to recover for 5 games at OSU on Sunday!

Twitter is hard

I've had a twitter account for maybe a year(?) and I think I've tweeted 5 times. It's hard to understand. Hash tags and @?!?

I really only use it to complains or get through to customer service people at companies. I do want to use it for a social media aspect, but I rarely have anything to say and I'm pretty much saying it to no one. Hmmm maybe twitter isn't for me and I should just stick to Facebook. I should just leave it as a customer service resources for myself.

Is it wrong?

To get upset over someone copying your style even though the outfit in question is pretty common, but totally out of their wheelhouse?

It's like an outfit I might wear, but poorly done, a poorly done look for less.

Wow, I am such a bitch.

Chipmunk vs Squirrel

Did you know these were two different animals?  I really though they were interchangeable, but I found out this weekend that they are indeed two different animals.  I present you:

Chipmunk

Squirrel

Disney had it right.  Chip and Dale are definitely chipmunks and not squirrels.  How did I find this out?  I got a phone call Saturday night from a friend.  She sounded very defeated that she had been battling with a chipmunk for three hours.  Her cat brought it into her house and she managed to trap it in the bathroom.

I came over to help rid her of her fuzzy new roommate.  We strategized and traded intel on said chipmunk.  I kept calling it a squirrel since I hadn't seen it yet and in my mind, it was a squirrel.  I jumped into the bathroom, shut the door behind me, and met the chipmunk.

It's a cute little creature and I yelled and screamed and tried to trap it in a cardboard box all the while trying not to step on it.  Those suckers are fast!  After maybe 10 minutes, I got it into the box, snapped it shut, and transported it outside to release it back into the wild.  I should have had the presence of mind to snap a picture of it, but I was set on my task of chipmunk capturing.

We then proceeded to El Vaquero for some victory margaritas!

Dog picture of the day

This is what I call the "Nose of Shame". That little pick spot on her black nose happens when good doggies do bad things. She got this from eating an entire pizza. She was probably trying to hide some of it somewhere.

Red gets the same thing when she tries to hide food. I call them ugly dogs when they have the "Nose of Shame".

Doesn't look like Egg Roll minds so much.

Love/hate with Apple

I love apple products, but I hate iTunes and the whole iPhone syncing thing. I've had to restore my phone twice in as many weeks. First was when the new update came out for iPhone 5 and again today when the apple genius wiped my phone in an attempt to get my sound working again. Not as intuitive as some might think.
