A cake pan is not a roasting pan
I learned this lesson tonight. My roasting pan is a little rough. It's been used a lot and it's seen better days. I should have bought a new one by now, but I haven't had a chance to research a new one. So I made another prime rib tonight and used a cake pan. I thought it wouldn't matter because I was using a roasting rack on top of the cake pan. Well, I was wrong.
The cake pan now has pan dripping burnt into the bottom and it now smells like burnt meat. UGH! Now I need a new cake pan and a new roasting pan. I think now that I definitely cook a lot more than when I was younger that I should be upgrading some of my cookware.
I also need a new small pot because it broke. So it looks like I need three items. All my other baking pans are also cheap ones, so maybe a set is necessary. Something else to put on the list.

I love being productive
Nothing gives me a sense of calm than being productive. Having long to-do lists for too long makes me crazy. Then I go into "tornado" mode like the hubster likes to call it.
This weekend, we knocked out three tasks that have been on my list for a while.
This weekend, we knocked out three tasks that have been on my list for a while.
- and 2. Fix the toilets. 2 of the 3 toilets in our house are broken in some way. The downstairs main bathroom toilet gets stuck and sometimes runs and overflows the toilet. This has happened three times, but runs constantly after someone uses the bathroom. We fixed that! The upstairs bathroom toilet has a leak in the tank. We found this out a few months ago when we went upstairs to find the floor covered in water. We fixed that too! What I hate is that fact that it took a total of 1 hour (including the drive to Home Depot) to fix these two items that have been plaguing us for so long
3. Put up tire rack in the garage. Since the hubster is a car guy, I indulge in his car things. For example, I have two sets of tires for my car. Winter/snow and three season/performance. The performance tires have been sitting in a stack in the corner of the garage. The replacements for those have been sitting in between the two cars for about a week. It makes pulling into the garage a little trickier. We bought two tire racks last year. They have been sitting unassembled in the garage. We finally put one up and put the tires up there and the new ones underneath where the old ones sat. This has cleared up a lot of space and allowed us to put the hubster's "gaming" chair underneath as well. Soon the new tires will be put on the other wheels and the old tires will be disposed of. So there will be even more space in the garage.
So there you have it. Three checks on my to-do list. I still need to finish the floors and I think the hubster wants to re-do the bathroom floors before finishing the wood floors...
I see that lasting another year.

So pleased with myself
I've been on a food pinning binge on Pinterest. Pinning everything that looks good and that has an easy recipe that people actually reviewed. You'd be surprised at how many links have negative comments about recipes. It seems so easy to steal or take a good picture.
Anyway, tonight I made two things from Pinterest:
1. Panko crusted tilapia
2. Asparagus, Parmesan, and onion orzo
Both were amazing. I also made a side of grilled veggies

Definitely making again.
On a sad note, I wanted to make rack of lamb for Easter. Well really for Sunday since I have no lacrosse, but since it also happens to be Easter let's just say I wanted to make it for Easter. Anyway I went to carfagnas to buy some and they didn't have any 😢. What do to? Well I bought a prime rib roast instead. Oh we'll next best thing. It's a small one, not the honking 13 lbs I bought for New Years.

I'm done with march madness
Well I'm officially done with march madness. My work does a suicide pool and last year I got knocked out when duke lost on the second day of the second round.
Well this year I got knocked out on the first day of round 2. Fucking New Mexico.
A number two and number three sees getting knocked out. Never doing it again. Now I have to use my secret powers to screw over my co-workers.
If you didn't know, any team I root for has a tendency to lose. That's my theory and it usually works.

Obsession
My newest obsession: True Blood.
The hubster has been trying to her me to watch the show for a long time. I resisted mostly because I wasn't very interested and it would have required me to watch in the living room. I love watching TV in my comfy bed. Well, he bought a roku and now I had no choice.
I ended up watching it when I was out sick with my recurring headaches. I watched 4 seasons in a week and now the hubster and I are plowing through season 5. It almost makes me want to subscribe to hbo, so we can watch season 6 when it comes out.
The hubster and I have great conversations about the show. Mostly we've turned it into teams a ala twilight. He's team Jessica which surprises me. Didn't think he was into redheads. I'm bounce between team bill and team Eric, but lately lean towards Eric, but as the hubster points out, only mean Eric, not memory loss Eric.

I'm such a dork
I told the hubster he's the best husband ever and he replied with "you should remember this more often and we will fight less".
My wonderful response: "best husband calculations are a lifetime average. I usually operate on 30 minute running average of husband performance"
I'm a dork and my job has too much influence over me.

In her favorite sleeping position and her favorite sleeping spots. I'm sensing a pattern here.
I swear we change and wash our sheets and duvet covers!

Shoot out Queen
I must be an unlucky charm because 3 out of the 5 blue jackets games I have been to have ended in a shoot out. We don't even win them all. It sure is exciting though.

Kick start
No, not that website where people can invest in someone else's idea.
This is my own personal kick start. Well more like keep the momentum up. I ran my half marathon last year and I'm starting the process for my national and cap city is going great. I want to keep up the activities. I thought the best way would be to do that 101 in 1,001 days that I see on blogs everywhere.
It's hard coming up with that many items. I've got 29 right now. Most of them are just things I need or want to get done around the house. I need to add some fun spontaneous things onto the list and maybe some more menial ones. Life can't always be exciting can it?
Time to brainstorm some more...

Law and Order Fun and Games
I love Law and Order. All of the spin offs - the original, SVU, Criminal Intent, and even LA. I couldn't get into Law and Order UK because those British have some wonky laws.
I've discovered that one of Brock's good friends and one of our frequent dinner dates also loves Law and Order. We've come up with a game where you find actors with cameos on Law and Order. It started off with finding Emily March on a Food Network show with Bobby Flay. I've seen Norman Reedus and Hayden Panietierre (sp). I told them that she is married to him. Anyway, ever since actually paying attention and reporting them, I've come upon with some great ones. One of my favorites: Dr Warner, the SVU medical examiner, showing up as a defense attorney in regular Law and Order.
My all time favorite: Lenny Briscoe - no explanation needed - showing up as a defense attorney in the second season of Law and Order. Old school with ADA Ben Stone and Paul Robinette.
Gotta keep my eye out for more!

Blue jackets game
I'm neglected this poor blog, yet again.
The hubster and I went to a blue jackets game with some of coworkers. We had a great time. It was a great time up until we lost in OT.

Reason #72 why I keep the hubster around
He takes me to the ER when I refuse to.
Yesterday, I got out of work early and decided to hit the gym before my membership ran out. (I cancelled it last week) After my workout, I headed to the grocery store to pick some things up so I could pack a lunch for today's long car ride to West Virginia. While walking along the cheese aisle, I notice my vision is all screwy. I can only see half of the signs. I'm not off balance or anything , but something is weird. My right arm got tingly like i cut off circulation to it. Then bot hands got tingly. I quickly finish my shopping and head to check out. I actually wait in line because I didn't know if I would have the dexterity or agility to use the self scan!
I fumbled with my items getting them on the belt. I missed my strawberries because they were in my "blind spot". I had to really concentrate to use the credit card machine. By the time I got home, I had a terrible headache and I just wanted to sleep. I had called the hubster while at the grocery store and explained to him what was going on.
He called again while I was at home and he said he was coming home to take me to the ER. I told him to give me an hour and let me sleep.
Despite my protests, he came home, stuffed me in the car, and drive like a maniac to the hospital. I was admitted given a few shots, threw up a few times, peed in a cup, and felt so much better by the time I left.
Turns out I had my very first migraine. Wow what a doozy. So thank you hubster for taking me when I was being stubborn. I'm sure I could have waited out the migraine, but with the plans this weekend, I'm glad we went when we did.
Also the reason he drove like a madman was because he thought I was going to have an aneurysm or a stroke. Of course, he didn't tell me this until I was discharged. I love him so much. He takes such good care of me. He even bought me chicken mcnuggets on the way home. 20 pieces all to myself. I shared 4 and only ate 10.
