Difference between the hubster and me

Every time I go out of town, I have one request that the hubster send me pictures of the dogs because I miss them. This is what he sends.

Pretty decent Memorial Day

Spent the day at the philadelphia premium outlets to take advantage of some sales. Lot of the stores were picked over because today was the last day. I bought some hand sanitizer which is not typical for me, but the number of portapotties I've used in the last month has changed my mind about carrying the stuff. Also bought a cute tank top from J Crew. Almost bought some white trousers from Neiman Marcus last call, but there was one cashier who was going so slow. Just walked out without them. A little bummed that there wasn't a lot that I wanted, but my European vacation savings is happy with me. Besides I have packages at home waiting to be opened.

Finished off the day hitting Penang in Chinatown for dinner with half the family. It was very good. Stuffed to the gills, but also managed to grab a bubble tea!

National tournament

Finishes up day one at national tournament. Temperature wasn't too bad. It was the wind that killed me. Almost blown away on the field!

Had three good games. The play here is really top notch. Girls can catch and pass. It's a beautiful game.

Had a great compliment from a parent. Said he noticed how fast I was running up the field and that he appreciated the hustle. Always nice to hear something positive from a parent and not just complaints.

Well today I have two games and one I'm being observed by Lisa Clark on my LAST game of the weekend. Gonna have to reserve the legs for that one.

Walk part 2

Recovery!

Dog picture of the day

Egg Roll needed to be carried back to the car for the last portion of our walk to ought. She had no problems with the awkward position I was holding her.

What a mess

Lacrosse has dominated the past two weekend and will for the next two weekends. My house is starting to show it.

There are papers and mail everywhere on my dining room table. The floors are in need of some swiffering!

I leave for national tournament on Friday. Oof. Gotta get my shit together by then.

Scattered contacts

Since I forgot my contacts when I went to the Robert Morris fall play day, I've been vigilant in having my contacts at all games. It's not like I can't see, but things are crisper with them on. My prescription is -0.75 in each eye.

Anyway, as a result of this, I have contact bubbles everywhere!

In the car glove compartment - check!
In my purse - check!
In my lacrosse bag - check!
In my bathroom - check!

That seems like a lot locations to me especially since last year, they only lived in my bathroom. Loose contact bubbles in various numbers abound!

I'll have to collect them all into one location at the end of the season.

Successful day

I had some worries about what I would do with my extra day in Colorado. The original plan was to go snowboarding at the lone remaining open resort. I was so tired from the clinic that I cancelled that idea. Instead I spent the day sites seeing in Colorado Springs before checking into my hotel in Denver. I was able to drive up the Pike's Peak Highway to the summit (almost) of Pike's Peak. They closed the last 4 miles due to three feet of snow they got on Thursday. (Side note: so pouring rain where I was at equals snow at 14,000 ft above sea level)

I did manage some great pictures.

After that, I went to the garden of the gods. Unfortunately it was too late in the day because it was packed! Luckily they have a loop that goes around the main rock formations. So I managed some pictures from the car. I wish I could have parked and hiked around. It was really beautiful and probably breathtaking up close.

Wrapping up the day with dinner and then promptly showering and crashing for the night. Flight home leaves at 4 pm. What should I do in Denver until then?

Packing dilemma

I started packing for the WCLAs in Colorado Springs last night. I am using this as an opportunity to test out my new suitcase which I plan to use in Europe. Yep I've resolved to spend two weeks in Europe with only a 20" roller bag.

It did not go well. I finally edited down so that all my clothes fit, but realized I didn't leave room for toiletries! By the way, I'm only there for 5 days... In my defense, I'm wearing two outfits per day because I have ref stuff and regular stuff. The packing cubes I bought really do help with space. This is what fit in the bag:

3 sets of stripes - 2 short, one long
Kilt
2 pair spandex
Black pants
Black underarmor tights
Black long sleeve underarmor
2 black tshirts
Black shorts
Black sleeveless
Rain pants
Rain jacket
Black leggings
2 button down shirts
Capri sweats
Tshirt
White shorts
Sweater
6 pairs of socks
3 sports bras
2 bras
Black running shoes
Ref bag - takes up so much space!!!

The list seems like a lot. My personal item is going to be stuffed to the gills. Did I mention that I'm also checking a bag filled with my snowboarding stuff on the off chance that ill go to Arapaho basin?

15 of the items listed are reffing related. If I swap them for regular items, maybe taking this bag to Europe might be realistic.

What the heck?!?!

My legs are sore. This is not surprising except they are sore from finishing the floors and not from running.

Floors almost done!!

The hubster and I finally got around to knocking out some of the floors. We got the linoleum to wood flooring transitions knocked out and the tile to wood in front of the fireplace. Only the entryway to wood is left!!! It looks really good.

It only took one trip to Home Depot to get a router and some more transitions since the ones we bought LAST year weren't going to work 😞 super fail.

Well one more day and it'll be done, but the questions is which day. Lacrosse season is still in full swing for high schools. I'm headed out to Colorado this week and national tournament in a few weeks.
