We had a scavenger hunt at work yesterday. The systems team (my group) was paired up with someone from the mechanical group for a team building scavenger hunt. It was quite the enjoyable activity. Clues took us all around the Heath/Newark area. We were required to take pictures of the answers to the clues and those made for some hilarious photos.
My partner and I managed to finish in second place. Our prize was one day of valet parking at work. I'm questioning whether I want my boss to drive my car. It's a nice enough prize and could be a lot of fun if you think about it.
"Oh hey, I want to go out to lunch today, I'll need my car"
"I forgot to go the bank, I need my car again"
"I need to pick up a prescription"
I could choose to work an extra long day.
It was a lot of fun and it was perfect timing since I wasn't have the best day yesterday.

I hate golf
for now.
I went golfing yesterday with some co-workers and played terribly. I hate not being moderately good at things. I have a personal mantra of "I don't do anything unless I'm good at it." And it's worked well for me so far. I'm not afraid to try new things, but there is no fun or joy in new hobbies or activities if I'm not decent at them. So far I've fooled myself into thinking that I don't suck at golf, but that I'm still learning. After 6 lessons and at least 8 rounds of golf (9 holes each), I think it's a lost cause.
I thought I played decently well when I was out in New Jersey and that might have been my turning point. Yesterday proved that wrong. I was terrible! I've decided that I need to hit the driving range some more and if I don't start consistently hitting the ball there, I'm going to give up golf.
I know exactly what I'm doing wrong (and it's a lot). I just don't know how to consistently not do it. Keep my head down, don't flip my wrist, etc. My pitching sucks, my putting has gone down hill, and I don't have any power behind any of my swings. It really is annoying that I hit my irons just as far as my drivers. There are a few good hits every so often, but I attribute those moments of grace for statistical probabilities rather than skill.
*sigh*
I hope it doesn't get too cold soon. I really want to put my driving range plan into action and decide whether to continue with golf before next year.

Tagg, you're it!
Look what came in the mail today! It's Red's gps tracker. The hubster was so kind to open the package and start charging it up right away. Heaven took these pictures knowing that I would want to blog about it.
I had a Cap City Lax meeting tonight so I didn't get home to activate it until 9ish. It was a pretty easy process and it is now securely placed on Red's collar.
Not sure how she feels about it, but I think the hubster and I can have a little peace of mind in case she decides to run away again.
I haven't tested out the notifications or Tagg zone yet, but I'll report back when I do. My only complaint is that the website states an iPhone app is available, but I can't find it on iTunes. The android one is there in the marketplace. I'll be upset if there isn't one. For the same amount of money, I could buy a Garmin tracker and not pay a monthly service fee and a free app!
How could I have forgotten?
To dress my dogs up in their Halloween costumes?!?!
I blame the hubster. He had his second sleep study last night, so I was by myself. Ever since the hubster's car was broken into, I don't like being alone in the house at night. Hell, last week, his friend stopped by to drop something off and I didn't answer the door. I rarely answer the door when I'm not expecting someone.
So last night, I got home from the gym, took a shower, ate dinner, and plopped in front of the TV. I didn't want to watch in the living room so to keep up the appearance that no one was home. It was also Halloween last night and I didn't want to give out candy. Anyway, the plan was to watch TV and then walk the dogs at 10 pm. Basically, it was to stay in the bedroom which is what I did, and in the process, I forgot to dress up the dogs in their costumes because that would require walking out to the living room, finding their costumes, and dressing them up. Also after they were dressed up, I'd have to take pictures and this all would happen in the living room.... where I didn't want to be.
Maybe I'll do it tonight. I don't need a reason like Halloween to dress my little fur kids up!
