I love the Olympics

I absolutely love watching the Olympics, summer or winter, even the most mundane events.  I spent a good portion of my vacation in Delaware watching the Olympics at night when all the day time activities were completed and we were exhausted.  If the TV was on, it was Olympic coverage.  Even after getting home from my vacation, I spent the weekend relaxing and vegging in front of the TV watching beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, track and field, water polo, field hockey, and occasionally flipping back and forth between badminton and other sports.  I loved every minute of it even though I was sitting on my bottom.  I even contemplated not going to summer league to finish off the women's volleyball match.

I'll be so sad when it's over.  But I'll only have to wait 2 years until the winter Olumpics in Sochi arrives.  I told the hubster last night that I'd like to go the Olympics once in my life.  Another thing to add to my list of world travels which I don't even think I've started on yet...

An apple family

I spent the past week in Rehoboth Beach, DE where the apple bug hit my entire family. It started with my mom whipping out her iPad and playing both mahjong and sudoku on it. My dai yi loves them both. I think my mom last her iPad at the first poong. Since it was her birthday, my mom and I went halfsies on it and bought her one. That just sparked a wildfire scramble of iPads. My mom's other two sisters also got iPads. That's right, four Chinese sisters with iPads. The last two days were spent educating them on FaceTime, Facebook, emails, apps, and passwords. Welcome to the 21st century, Lui family!!!

For a mini family reunion, we sure spent a lot of time on the iPads/iPhones. I think under one roof with 15 adults and one baby, there were 8 iPads and 7 iPhones. Also two MacBooks for good measure. Wowsers!!

Here are three of the four sisters surrounding the new iPad with two trying to teach the third how to play sudoku.

I think lesson took an hour at least. I still don't think she completely understands.
