Foiled!

Woke up early to go take a spin class at the gym. No dice! Road was blocked due to this:

Don't know if you can see it, but notice the power lines in the left and how upright they are? The 6th one down and further are not quite erect. Wonder if that has anything to do with the no power situation? Hmmmmm...

So no gym, and no killing an hour. It didn't look good anyway because the power was out along the whole street to the gym. I guess I could have found a detour around, but I didn't have garmin and I would have been late to the class anyway.

Mumford and Sons

I've been dying to go see Mumford and Sons ever since my brother and his girlfriend got to go in Portland. I was tempted to drive down to Kentucky or Tennessee, but decided against it. It's a good thing I waited because they are coming to Columbus in August and I just bought us tickets!!!

Yay! So excited.

Love/hate

There are very few things where I have a love/hate relationship. Sometimes I think that's how it is with the hubster :) but I know that is the case with golf.

I finally figured out what I was doing wrong with my swing and was hitting balls like crazy. Queue in two more visits to the golfing range and my confidence was shattered going into my golf outing yesterday. I went from optimistic golfer to never want to golf again in the span of a week.

Golf went well last night. I think it was the best I've played in terms of consistency. It's made me love it again and has really lit the fire for me to play a real round of golf and not just a scramble.

Of course now that I'm "better" I want to buy new clubs! But I think I should upgrade my snowboard before investing in new clubs. Though I do golf more times a year than I snowboard. It's hard to spend $300+ on an item I use at most three times a year. Besides I really like my board.

Peeved

I'm getting really peeved with all these travel search engines.  I've been trying to book a flight to Las Vegas for me and the hubster.  Every time I find a flight that works for us, when I try and book it, the price goes up.  First Southwest was having a sale that said it ended Monday.  Tickets were $250 on Friday, but come Sunday night, they went up by $150.  Hmmm, maybe Sunday night = Monday for them.

Then I was using Kayak yesterday.  Delta had a flight for $250 as well.  Click on it and am redirected to Delta.  Oh look, the flight you chose is no longer $250, but is now $600.  Wow, great, let me book that too.  I check again today.  Oh, look, $261.  Wrong, it's $350.  I know sites like Kayak, expedia, etc pull from databases or something, but it's a little annoying to not have the updated prices.  Travelocity used to do this and I stopped using them and switched to Expedia.  This sucks.
