I decided to break my shopping ban a week early since there is nothing I want from Black Friday sales. I will be asleep in my warm bed come Black Friday. Anyway, I decided to hit the outlets on the way to Ikea (that's another story). I wanted to hit J.Crew, Banana Republic, and Pottery Barn. These outlets aren't nearly as good as the ones closer to Cincinnati, but since I had to back to Columbus at a certain time, I couldn't squeeze it in.
I scored at J.Crew and got 8 items for $163, not bad. The shitty thing is that I bought the wrong size in one of the skirts and outlet stock is super sketchy, so I'm contemplating going back this weekend. Not sure if it's worth the hour there and back drive. LAME! It's my fault anyway.
Nothing at Banana Republic which brings us to Pottery Barn and the reason for this post. The light in the stairway went out about a month ago. We have yet to change it. I had the bright idea of replacing the ceiling light with a pendant light to kinda spruce up the space. So I went with the purpose of buying a light fixture. Well as luck would have it, they were having an extra 25% off on hard wired lighting. While purusing the clearance section, I found this.
It's pretty, isn't it? Even the hubster gave it the thumbs up. I scooped this baby up for $86 from the original price of $199. As I was inspecting this at home and seeing if it worked, I found out that this is not a hard wired light and that when I argued with the register girl, I was in fact wrong. This has a plug, so it's not hardwired. Oh, well. That's what they get for trying to sell me a broken one in the first place. Good thing I insisted on opening the box before purchasing. So now the problem is to convert the original light fixture to support a chandelier and to convert this plug light into something we can hard wire. It doesn't look to hard from the tutorials I have read online. I think that will be a project for next weekend. I'll have four days to fill now that I won't be shopping on Friday.
