New Credit Card

I've been using my Costco Amex almost exclusively ever since I got my own Costco membership (~ 5 years).  I'm beginning to wonder if this is the best credit card for us.  We have the business membership and we've been able to break even on the rewards for the business membership.  It basically costs $50 more than the regular membership, but you receive % back on every Costco purchase.  You get what basically amounts to a store credit to Costco at the end of the year.  It works for us because we turn around and spend it at Costco anyway.  The amex reward is also a rewards check we receive every February.  We get a decent amount back every year, but I'm wondering if another card will yield higher rewards.

We pretty much charge every purchase and pay it off every month, so interest rates don't really matter.  I've heard a lot of great things about the Starwood Amex and there is a deal going on with extra points when you sign up and spend $4500 within three months.  It does have an annual fee which is a con, but all the good reviews and raves of this card almost offset the fee.  The hubster is anti-reward points/miles for credit cards because he would prefer cash like we get now.

I'd love to take advantage of the Starwood card to get 5 star accommodations for a low monetary amount plus points.  That seems to be the best bang for your buck.  I'm pretty sold on it, but now to convince the hubster.

@#$@#$

I'm so mad at myself right now.  I had to pay my first late fee on a credit card =(  It's so stupid and totally my own fault.  There goes my perfect credit history.

I applied for a Chase Southwest credit card a while ago because you would get 2 round trip flights for basically the annual fee of $59, then I was going to cancel the card.  Anyway, I put down in my monthly budget to pay this off, but I haven't checked that spreadsheet in a while.  And of course, I forgot.  Missed it by one day.  So I paid off the card this morning, but I'm still super mad at myself.  I added a reminder in my Google Calendar (which I should have done in the first place!).  Not like it matters, I don't plan on actually using the card since I put everything on my American Express card.  So I've never carried a balance or had to pay late fees or interest, I wonder what my next statement will look like.  Will there be interest?  Does it compound daily?  More things to worry about great!

It's been two hours and I'm still grumbling in my cube about this...
