Doggie Day Camp

I love great customer service. I really do! If a waiter screws up my order and comps me something without asking, but doesn't really affect my dinner, I usually put a portion of the cost of the item in the tip.

So I love the place I take Red for doggie day camp. It's a place called Kennel Club USA. It's on the way to work and has a huge facility for playing. They post pictures on Facebook and Red has been featured a few times. It's not cheap, but I love it. Here's why:

After finishing up Red's last package, finances were tight so I could get her another one. Well Red has been emo lately and I thought a visit to day camp would help. She hasn't been in a long time. I called this morning hoping they could squeeze her in and they could. Didn't ask for my name or anything. I walk in with Red and they knew her by name. It had been 3-4 months since her last visit. I was amazed. They knew her name when she was going 1-2 times a month, but I was seriously impressed they still remembered her. Obviously Ref is unforgettable, but that's as her mom saying it. So good job kennel club. You've got a customer for life. I just wish you would separate dogs for feedings when boarding.

Perhaps this is the way to game the system

So speaking of price adjustments, I was also able to score two more price adjustments today. One for a dress I bought on Thursday and on the hubster's Christmas gift. Well not quite yet on the gift, but its from Nordstrom so I don't anticipate a problem. So should I just buy everything I want before Christmas and then make the rounds for price adjustments the day after?

Is it worth the gas? For me this time around, it was. Adding up my table, dress, and gift, I will have saved $270!

Score!

So the hubster and I decided we needed to get a new dining room table. Our current one was too small and I wasn't too happy with the glass top. So a few clicks on a few sites and we ended up at Cost Plus World Market. We originally went in for another table that had an extension leaf, but came home with this

The Napa dining table. You can't tell from this picture, but this table has a lot of character. The top has all sorts of ruts and grooves. We both loved it. We picked it up on Sunday. It was $449, but we paid $400 with a 10% off coupon. We knew that if we were to upgrade to a real grown up table, it would cost more than an ikea table. We were ok with that.

Well imagine my surprise when I saw that they were offering an additional 15% off today. I was a little bummed, but 5% wasn't enough to get me to move. However, I saw that the table was 50% off! What?!?!

I called them up and asked if they did price adjustments, and they did! I went to the store, got my 50% off and another 15% off on top of that. So the table we original paid $400 for, we ended up paying $212.

That's cheaper than the nicest ikea dining table. Makes me love it even more.

Who knew?

That my Red, the happiest dog you will ever meet, turned into the biggest grinch this Christmas. Not a single one of her characteristic smiles. She's just been moping all day. Makes my heart a little sad.

Leave it to me

To leave on a shopping trip for Christmas presents to come home with two dresses for myself. I did manage to grab the last of the hubster's gifts.

By the way, the two dresses I bought were amazing. I love them. Now to find a place/event to wear them to!

I have the best husband ever

I came home from shopping to find that he recorded "I want a dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown". He knows I love snoopy and dogs. How could I not love it!

How young is too young?

For a cell phone or more like a smart phone in today's world?  The stepson is in 6th grade.  One day while he was with us, he asked to us the hubster's phone to call a friend... a girl friend, not girlfriend, but girl friend. Anyway, once, this friend had his number, the hubster's phone started to blow up.  Once Friend A got the number, she passed on to her many friends.  It was out of control.  Of course, the hubster could not have been prouder.

Anyway, the hubster wants to get the stepson a phone for Christmas.  He is 11.  Is that too young or am I just an old fart?  I have no problems with getting a "dumb" phone, but the hubster is concerned about the cool factor.  WTF?!?!  Anyway, did you know it costs $89 for a regular brick cell phone with talk and text capability only?  On the other hand, you can get an iPhone 4 for one penny.  These are both with 2 year contracts.  Yes, you have to get at minimum a $20 data plan with any smart phone.

I think we're getting ahead of ourselves by giving him a smart phone for a few reasons:

  1. He's not responsible enough to monitor his data usage.  3 Mbs is not a lot.  When you tell him, he can play on the computer for an hour, he's never off when the hours is over.  Overage charges for data is a minimum of $20
  2. Other people will use it or take it.  I fear he'll show up with someone else's phone with sim cards switched out or something
  3. Is there parental control for these types of things?  Will he be able to browse anything on the internet?
I think these are legitimate concerns.  The hunbster and I need to take care of these issues before we proceed.  There's only 5 days until Christmas.  That doesn't leave us a lot of time.

I'm crazy

I saw this at Target and bought it.

For my future kid. I mean look at it. How could I not buy it?

It looks exactly like Hobbes! Even if we never have a kid, I can now dress up as Calvin for Halloween!

A visit with the niece and nephew

The mil and sil came up this weekend and she brought the kiddos with her too. This is the first time I've spent and extended amount of time with them. They are a hoot and they loved the pupperoos.

Here are some pictures from the visit:

Jackson and Egg Roll

Piper finding a place to sleep

Piper settling in

Egg Roll claiming her spot on the air mattress

Red sprawled out and exhausted from the kids

Red and Piper

They are so cute ( both the dogs and kids). It was an eventful night because we ended up taking the mil to the ER in the middle of the night and that messes up the kids sleep schedule. The hubster was up all night with his mom and I took over at 7 so he could go to work. I woke up at 4 am because my stomach started to hurt. I think the new meds I'm on have wrecked my stomach. Any notion of hunger and I am useless. I just keel over in painful stomach cramps. I think any carbonation also upsets it.

I did manage to get some Christmas shopping done. I think I did pretty good and crosses 4 people off the list.

The icing on the fucking cake

Our bags did not make it onto our new flight. Now I have to wait at the airport for another 30 minutes to get my bag!!!

Cookie exchange

Is it bad etiquette to show up to a cookie exchange with no cookies? I had every intention of making cookies today when I was supposed to get home at 7:00pm!!

Now that my arrival time has been pushed back 3.5 hours I don't really have the time...

:(

The best part of my day

I'm still on my way home from San Diego. Another 3 hours before I'm back in Columbus. And this has been the best part of my day

Ugh I'm tired of eating airport food. Three sandwiches in one day and what probably amounts to $50 worth of food. What a waste of money!

I hate you San Diego airport

Flipping $20 for two panini sandwiches with two slices of turkey, one slice of cheese and one slice of bacon!

I hate that you only have two food options in terminal 1!!!!!

What else can go wrong?

Woke up early today to catch my flight home to Columbus and everything is going fine. Get to airport early. No line at the gate counter, no line at security, got a breakfast sandwich and boarded without issue.

Push back from gate and oops, the steering doesn't work!

Here we are an hour later and we are still on the ground. Lame. Now getting home in time to grab the dogs is up in the air :( I miss my little fur faces!

Hopefully they fix the problem and we can get out of here. The hubster needs to work tomorrow!

But I have a feeling were meant to stay in sunny So Cal!

This is what death feels like

My body has betrayed me and I've spent all day in agony in bed with non stop chills and throwing up everything I've eaten.

The kick in the pants: my mom made me a home cooked dinner of lobster and other goodies and the sheer smell of it makes me want to vomit. :(. FML.

Disneyland!!!

The hubster and I spent the day at the happiest place on earth with my brother and his girlfriend. It was probably the most relaxed visit to the park we've ever had. I think it helped that because of my recent headaches we avoided three of the most popular rides: space mountain, star tours, and big thunder mountain.

I love going to Disney during the holidays. I love the decorations!

I wanted this hat soooooo badly, but it didn't fit right. The ears didn't sit right and it was tight. Everyone else's ears looked fine. Jealous!!!

*sigh*

Christmas cards

They finally came in! And they are ready to be sent out!

Three different version: which one will you receive?

Sunday, December 2, 2012

And so it begins

The step son asked to use the hubster's phone to call a friend -a friend who happens to be a girl. Oh dear. And one call led to another and another and soon the girl's friend were calling the hubster's number. Oh dear.

So now we may be switching gears and getting the step son a phone for Christmas. It seems time. And time for a lot of other discussions...

The search for Chinese food

Ever since I've moved to Columbus, I've been on the hunt for authentic Cantonese food.  Something to remind me of home when I start craving Chinese food.  I've tried three different places and I tried the third tonight.  The first was Yuen Lee with the hubster.  It was ok.  It was a mix of Chinese and Vietnamese food.  The gai lan was old, but it was only ok.  The second was Sunflower something or other with my mom.  Eh, it was also ok, but it was also 30 minutes from home.  Not going to drive that far for ok food.

I saw this third place called Asian Taste in New Albany.  I looked it up on Yelp and it had some ok reviews, but they mentioned they had an authentic "Chinese" menu.  We went tonight with the hubster and the step son.  It looked very promising when the menu came out, but that's kinda where it all ended.  I ordered the hot and spicy squid and the seafood pan fried noodles from the chinese menu.  The squid was different than what I am used to, but it was ok.  The seafood pan fried noodles were also ok. (lol sensing a trend yet).  It had mussels in it (that was a first).  I think Joy Food One down the street is better and closer.

Anyway, the food was ok, could have dealt with it and would have been willing to come back to try other items on the menu, but the service was atrocious.  I mean there were two women servicing this tiny restaurant.  So the final verdict: not going back.

Jingle Bell Run 2012

Well, work decided to sponsor the Jingle Bell Run this year and I signed up.  In fact, I am a team captain.  Fantastic except this team captain has a lingering headache for the last 3 weeks and wasn't up to actually running it.  Instead, I cheered on my fellow co-workers and pretended to run the race =(  Here are some pictures:

 Me as a reindeer

 Group picture

 Group "fun" picture
(we are not that fun)

After the race

Since the company paid for the registration fee, I demanded that everyone wear a holiday themed accessories.  I think we look great.  Will also help for our annual recognition banquet.  I'm still bummed  I couldn't run.  I really need to get back into it.

Good news is that so far today has had the least number of headaches and the ones that have hit aren't nearly as severe as the past week.  *knocks on wood*  I hope I didn't jinx myself and hopefully, this is a turning point for me and friendly headache.

Purple Ombre

I had $15 in Kohl's cash that was about to expire, so I went to Kohl's hoping to find something useful to spend it on.  A few things came time mind: like the $100 fur trimmed tree skirt I wanted on Black Friday which was now marked down to $40.  With $15 Kohl's cash and 20% off coupon, that was still going to be more than what I wanted to pay.  I really went out with the goal to spend no actual money and just spend $15 exactly.

So after circling the store two to three times, I had in my hands a pair of black soft and cozy lined tights.  Practical and almost a "need".  I still had $6 to spend!  I thought leggings, but they didn't have any plain black leggings.  So while walking around in the hosiery department, I saw them.  Purple ombre tights and I bought them!

No clue what I am going to wear with them, but I thought they were neat and so cute.  So two pairs of tights = $0.83.  Kohl's does this wonky thing where they take off the Kohl's cash first and then takes off the 20%, otherwise, I would have underspent the $15.

I'm an Ageist

I found myself in an interesting situation yesterday.  I had gone to my doctor's again for a follow up since my headaches have not gone away.  On occasion, I have had new doctors or doctors in training or whoever come in and talk to me.  I don't have a problem with it.  I figure two doctors are better than one even if one is a newbie.  Anyway, this happened yesterday and I had absolutely no confidence in this new doctor.  And the reason was because he looked sooooo young and I think another reason is because he didn't look the part of a doctor.  How judgmental of me!  Seriously, I need to stop because I'm only going to get older and they are most likely only going to get younger - kinda like officiating.  I think this was the first time that I was 100% sure that I was older than my doctor.  Not that it should matter.

So here I am sitting at home for like the 12 day in a row.  I'm on vicodin and was told to do absolutely nothing for the next few days.  I should be happy that I have a legitimate excuse not to go to work, but I want to be there.  I want to get stuff done and it's killing me.  There is so much to do and I'm just upset that I'm disappointing people.  Blargh!

Childhood reboot

Look what I found at Costco. Another childhood flashback! I remember having the same drawing kit when I was a kid. It wasn't project runway, but the silhouettes were the same. I loved that thing.

Dog picture of the day

What a rough life these two have.

Let there be light part 2

The hubster and I put the light up last night. It was pretty easy, but it hurt lol. I was holding the light up over my head and the hubster had to spend a lot of time screwing things in over his head. But it was all worth it! I looks amazing.

Black Friday

This Black Friday was kind of a disappointment.  I think it's because the hubster and I have no need for the usual items for sale.  How many vacuums and drills can one household need?  I think another contributing factor was that I shopped a lot prior to Black Friday as a stress relief the week before.  So what did I do last night?

I met up with my friend Caroline to pick up some $5 fleeces at Old Navy for our lacrosse team.  The plan is to embroider them and sell them to our team for cheap (probably the cost of the fleece).  Since I was out, I decided to stop in at Kohls.  I saw that the line was pretty long when I drove past on my way to Old Navy.  I went in and the cash register line was insane!  I walked around the store and picked up everything I wanted and got into line.  I stood there for 15 minutes and it did not move!  I decided it was not worth it to stand in line for an hour plus to buy some cheap sheets.  I dropped the items off in a corner on top of some boxes and went home to go to bed.

I woke up the next morning and headed out to try again hoping the line would be shorter.  I walked in and walked over to the corner where I left my stuff and it was still there!  Score!  I hopped into a much shorter line and 15 minutes later I was out of there.  Next, I headed over to Macy's to see if there was anything I could get and use a $10 off coupon.  No luck there or in the rest of the mall.

Last stop was to Home Depot to pick up some wire connectors.  I was home by 11 and just in time for a delivery.  Overall a very uneventful Black Friday.  I think I'll be staying home to work on some things around the house for the rest of the weekend.

SLC 2013

Just finished booking the condo for my 30th birthday in Salt Lake City!  That was the last step.  Flights out and condo done!  I'm so excited.  I got a great condo for a great price and there is still room for more people to come if they are interested.  2013 isn't here for another month and I can't wait!

Breaking dawn part 2 contd

What a load if sucktastic-ness that was. I'm so disappointed. Even as a vampire with a "gift", Bella still managed to suck it up in this movie. She played such a key role during the confrontation and she didn't really live up to it.

I also think that "twist" at the end ruined the movie even though it didn't really. (If you've seen the movie, I think you know what I mean)

Just ugh. And one last thing, if vampires are supposed to be oh so irresistible, why is it that I want to slap nearly all of them because they are whiny little douchebags?!?!

Breaking dawn part 2

I'm sitting here in an empty theater waiting for it to start. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm excited for this movie. So much so that I couldn't wait until this Thursday to watch it. This is it. Bella finally doesn't suck anymore. I've waited so long for this!

Gobble gobble gobble

Just got done with grocery shopping for thanksgiving dinner. When did turkey and its customary fixings get so expensive? I spent $71! Given I did buy beer and stocked back up on soda, but that's only $20. So $50 for a bird and some sides. Sheesh. At least it'll be super tasty.

Let there be light

I had a rough week at work with a big meeting with the customer.  It ended terribly when we were all surprised with a round of layoffs.  Eight people were let go (thankfully I was not one of them, but a good friend was).  It was a rough way to end the week.

I decided to break my shopping ban a week early since there is nothing I want from Black Friday sales. I will be asleep in my warm bed come Black Friday.  Anyway, I decided to hit the outlets on the way to Ikea (that's another story).  I wanted to hit J.Crew, Banana Republic, and Pottery Barn.  These outlets aren't nearly as good as the ones closer to Cincinnati, but since I had to back to Columbus at a certain time, I couldn't squeeze it in.

I scored at J.Crew and got 8 items for $163, not bad.  The shitty thing is that I bought the wrong size in one of the skirts and outlet stock is super sketchy, so I'm contemplating going back this weekend.  Not sure if it's worth the hour there and back drive.  LAME!  It's my fault anyway.

Nothing at Banana Republic which brings us to Pottery Barn and the reason for this post.  The light in the stairway went out about a month ago.  We have yet to change it.  I had the bright idea of replacing the ceiling light with a pendant light to kinda spruce up the space.  So I went with the purpose of buying a light fixture.  Well as luck would have it, they were having an extra 25% off on hard wired lighting.  While purusing the clearance section, I found this.

It's pretty, isn't it?  Even the hubster gave it the thumbs up.  I scooped this baby up for $86 from the original price of $199.  As I was inspecting this at home and seeing if it worked, I found out that this is not a hard wired light and that when I argued with the register girl, I was in fact wrong.  This has a plug, so it's not hardwired.  Oh, well.  That's what they get for trying to sell me a broken one in the first place.  Good thing I insisted on opening the box before purchasing.  So now the problem is to convert the original light fixture to support a chandelier and to convert this plug light into something we can hard wire.  It doesn't look to hard from the tutorials I have read online.  I think that will be a project for next weekend.  I'll have four days to fill now that I won't be shopping on Friday.

Too early!!

It is way too early for this. I love Christmas, but this is ridiculous. Christmas creep is getting out of control.

Good wifey

I stayed hone and missed a lacrosse play day to tend to the sick hubster. I made him chicken noodle soup and has been his gopher all day.

Last night, he woke up at 4 am burning up with a fever. We chatted a bit while I got him a drink and some Advil. He turns to me and says "I'm Bella and you're Edward" because I'm so cold to him. Then he tries to cover it up with "no wait, I'm Jacob because I'm hot and have a six pack"

Lol delusional hallucinatory hubster is a riot.

I feel so healthy

I went grocery shopping and while checking out, I surveyed my groceries and to my delight saw how healthy my groceries were! This rarely happens. The only thing that messed up my healthy cart were the hubster's Mac and cheese frozen dinners. Maybe the ranch was bad too, but the rest was all produce! Go me!

Score!

I've been lusting after these suede Tory Burch Revas for a long time.  I spotted them a while back and then they disappeared for a while.  Saw them again and was determined to get them.  Opportunity knocked when the hubster sold the Tibruon and generously offered me a little shopping spree for being such a great and supportive wife.  I bought some Lululemon crops and was stuck on the next item.

It was between a really cute Rachel Pally cutout maxi dress and these damn shoes.  I almost pulled the trigger on the dress last night, but fell asleep instead.  The dress would have put me over budget and I'm still on my self imposed shopping ban.  I was browsing around Slickdeals.net and saw a Bloomingdale's was having a Friends and Family event.  I popped on over and saw my shoes.  The code worked and would save me $47!  Done!

So now I have these cute shoes being sent to me for 20% off, free shipping, and no tax!  Amazing deal as these never go on sale.  I've been having great luck with all my Tory Burch purchases.  Either 20 or 30% off, free shipping, and free tax.  I guess that's another good reason to live in Ohio, not that many high end stores have brick and mortar stores in the state, so that negates sales tax.

Finally

The last of my eyelash extensions have fallen out. Man, I loved how they looked at first, but they got annoying fast. Rubbing my eyes was painful because the little bead of glue used to attach it scratched the skin under my eye a lot and irritated it. If they hadn't hurt so much to rip out, they'd have been long gone. I'll stick to the strip lashes with glue adhesive.

Inspirational sports movies

I love them. I really do. I'm watching secretariat right now and I love that movie. I've watched a lot of duds, but the good ones make them so worthwhile.

WTF?!?!

This commercial makes me so mad.  Furious. Enraged.

I don't like to talk politics with anyone.  It's none of my business.  And with this election, I knew who I was voting for, but only because I wasn't too fond of the other candidate.  But this definitely reinforced who I was voting for even though this wasn't paid for by the other candidate.  I don't want people who think like this and who support him have the satisfaction of winning the election.  Petty?  Sure, but I'm pissed.

I love a good deal!

So I slipped up and broke my shopping ban.  I went to the Eddie Bauer Outlet in Columbus and bought a red rain coat.  It was 60% off with extra 25% off.  How could I resist?  It ended up being $30!  And it wasn't black!

I also got my free pair of panties from Victoria's Secret.  I still love free panties, but I hope these last longer than the last pair.  I just threw the most recent pair out because there was a giant hole in the lace band which was there on the second wear.  I wore it with the hole, but then the other night, the hubster noticed the hole and it got a lot bigger.  So they had to go.

What to wear?!?

I've never really had this problem before. I have a wedding to attend tonight and I have no idea what to wear. Usually I just go out and buy something new, but I'm on a self imposed shopping ban to give my credit cards a break after my delta buying spree. I've done pretty good so far and have only bought gas and food for te past two weeks.

But the problem at hand, what to wear? I have several dress options, but I'm not really feeling any of them. One I've already worn to a wedding last year, another makes me look like I'm going to work, one is a little to short and I can't breath in it after I eat, and the last one is kinda blah. Gonna have to make a decision soon.

Who's bright idea was this?

Words with friends the board game?!?!

I'm pretty sure it's called scrabble!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!

I wish I got to dress up this year, but we had nowhere to go and so it's silly to dress up at home. I wanted to be a ballerina this year and make my own tutu. Maybe next year. I've seen some great ideas on Facebook. So sad.

Oof!

My poor credit card! I've bought 3 flights this billing cycle alone. And a 4th during the last one.

San Diego
Salt Lake City
Brussels
Philadelphia

I still have Colorado Springs and perhaps Denver to buy for in may and July. Definitely racking up the miles for next year. Now to pay for all these flights. At least it will seem less painful next year when all the other charges for Europe go through.

In a mood

I'm in a terrible mood today and just want to rip the head off of whoever I happen to be speaking to. Seriously, no patience for anyone.

Bummed

I hate how I get so bummed out when disappointed about things that aren't going to happen. For example, last night the hubster and I were going through tour books for a little research for our vacation and I noticed that the Belgian Grand Prix is early September during our trip. A google search said we would be in Belgium for the race, but more research said we would be a week late. I was disappointed because I knew the hubster would have loved to see it and I wouldn't have minded to see a unique event like that. Boo, we'll find something else to do.

Bats

We have a resident bat at work and I found him on the ground on Thursday. He was frantically trying to get off the ground. After several attempts, he made it, but he started circling around and thought he was trying to poop on me. Great way to get me in the Halloween spirit.

Maybe a little early

But time to start researching...

5th anniversary preparations

So it's started.  The hubster and I have always talked about going to Europe and we finally are going to be able to next year.  It coincides with our 5th anniversary.  Holy crap, 5 years married!  The most exciting part...how we are getting there.

Business class all the way baby!  When we first decided on going to Europe, we both decided we wanted this to be a big trip and we would spare no expense, so first class it was.  I've been trying to finagle and come up with a way to do it as cheaply as possible even though money was no object for this trip.  I had just earned Silver Status on Delta and that comes with certain upgrade benefits, but they don't extend to transatlantic flights, boo.  Besides, those upgrades are always a gamble and we wanted guaranteed comfortability.

So next option was to use my miles which I just had enough for a low tier business ticket and buy my own ticket.  I researched and researched on ways to game the system and was running into some success.  First off the list was that low mileage awards tickets were available in the time frame we wanted, but the same ticket was going to cost over $5000.  Hmmm, not so economical.  It was actually only $100 more expensive if I bought two cheaper first class tickets.  I did more research and tried different cities to fly into which was the big eye opener.  We didn't have to fly into Paris.  With the European train system, we had a lot of options. I looked into Amsterdam and Frankfurt and finally found luck with Brussels.

I stumbled randomly on a low fare sale to Brussels which matched up with a low mileage awards and voila, two business class tickets to Brussels for two weeks for the great price of $1700!  That's the same cost as two coach tickets!!  You can't believe how happy I am.  Seriously, there could have been tears.  The only downside if I can even call it that is that the first class seats might not be the lay flat beds.  Wah Wah...

But I have read that they are slowly upgrading the planes and have read some blogs that our particular flight has had one of the modified planes.  So keeping my fingers crossed.

Next step, buy some travel guide books, decide what to do and where to stay.

Europe here we come ... (in 10 months)!

The little things

Trigger some big memories. For example,

These are my writing utensils at work. Black pen and a mechanical pencil with magenta highlights. I happen to notice the color combination last week during a meeting and it reminded me of my first intramural soccer team which jump started my travel soccer career. We were hot pink and black and were called the shooting stars. Ah the 90's!

It took a lot of convincing to get my parents to sign me up so I could play with my best friend and neighbor. I turned out to be a decent soccer player and played defense. We went undefeated that season. I played one more intramural season before moving up an trying out for a travel team. Soccer and dance really set the foundation for my awesome athletic skills. Thanks mom!

Almost 30 and definitely feeling it

So I've done two division 1 fall ball playdays this fall and each time I've had to do 5 games and each time I've been exhausted. Barely able to finish the day. This is a first for me. I'm beginning to feel my age or I need to do a better job staying in shape. Either way, I'm beginning to find my limits and its not fun.

My calves are killing me, but pretty much both my legs are sore.

Hallelujah!

I woke up this morning way earlier than I wanted to ref at OSU for their fall play day.  On a side note, D1 lacrosse is fast and these girls do not drop the ball... like never.  Anyway, I didn't come home until around 4:45/5:00 pm.  But guess what was not home when I pulled up?    The Tiburon!!!

The hubster had one month to sell the car from when he bought Elsa.  Well, he was a week late, but it's gone!!!!  I pulled up to the house and I noticed that the Tiburon was gone and the garage door was open.  I thought to myself maybe someone was taking the car for a test drive.  Turns out someone was taking it for a permanent test drive.  Not only did they buy the car, they came all the way from West Virginia to buy it!  So glad that the car is gone, now for the next one...

Cap City Meet Chciago

Travelled to Chicago this weekend for the Chitown Classic.  We went 2-0-1, but we should have won all of them.  I had 4 goals and a pretty good record on draws.  We played very well and it was a great/tiring weekend.

Weak Hips

I think I need to start doing my PT exercises for my weak hips.  After playing and reffing this weekend, my hip flexor is screaming at me.  I just did three of those exercises and my hips/butt feel sore, but everything else feels a little bit better.  Is that normal or is it just my brain playing tricks on me?

Time to recover for 5 games at OSU on Sunday!

Twitter is hard

I've had a twitter account for maybe a year(?) and I think I've tweeted 5 times. It's hard to understand. Hash tags and @?!?

I really only use it to complains or get through to customer service people at companies. I do want to use it for a social media aspect, but I rarely have anything to say and I'm pretty much saying it to no one. Hmmm maybe twitter isn't for me and I should just stick to Facebook. I should just leave it as a customer service resources for myself.

Is it wrong?

To get upset over someone copying your style even though the outfit in question is pretty common, but totally out of their wheelhouse?

It's like an outfit I might wear, but poorly done, a poorly done look for less.

Wow, I am such a bitch.

Chipmunk vs Squirrel

Did you know these were two different animals?  I really though they were interchangeable, but I found out this weekend that they are indeed two different animals.  I present you:

Chipmunk

Squirrel

Disney had it right.  Chip and Dale are definitely chipmunks and not squirrels.  How did I find this out?  I got a phone call Saturday night from a friend.  She sounded very defeated that she had been battling with a chipmunk for three hours.  Her cat brought it into her house and she managed to trap it in the bathroom.

I came over to help rid her of her fuzzy new roommate.  We strategized and traded intel on said chipmunk.  I kept calling it a squirrel since I hadn't seen it yet and in my mind, it was a squirrel.  I jumped into the bathroom, shut the door behind me, and met the chipmunk.

It's a cute little creature and I yelled and screamed and tried to trap it in a cardboard box all the while trying not to step on it.  Those suckers are fast!  After maybe 10 minutes, I got it into the box, snapped it shut, and transported it outside to release it back into the wild.  I should have had the presence of mind to snap a picture of it, but I was set on my task of chipmunk capturing.

We then proceeded to El Vaquero for some victory margaritas!

Dog picture of the day

This is what I call the "Nose of Shame". That little pick spot on her black nose happens when good doggies do bad things. She got this from eating an entire pizza. She was probably trying to hide some of it somewhere.

Red gets the same thing when she tries to hide food. I call them ugly dogs when they have the "Nose of Shame".

Doesn't look like Egg Roll minds so much.

Love/hate with Apple

I love apple products, but I hate iTunes and the whole iPhone syncing thing. I've had to restore my phone twice in as many weeks. First was when the new update came out for iPhone 5 and again today when the apple genius wiped my phone in an attempt to get my sound working again. Not as intuitive as some might think.

Great weekend of lacrosse

Was an assistant clinician at a re-rate clinic and reffed two games on Saturday, and played in three in Sunday. Had a lot of fun, but my legs are tired and I think I pulled something.

Wtf is up with all the Peter Pan collars?

Enough already

Ugh!

My fat little monkey of a dog ate half a large pizza left on our kitchen table. She stuffed her fat face so much that she couldn't even eat the last two pieces. Moshe also took the liberty of eating it on my poang chair. She's definitely sleeping in her cage tonight. She's probably going to get diarrhea. Her stomach is huge and hard as a rock! Ugh!

She was doing so well, she needed to lose three lbs and at her last check up, she was down 1.5 lbs. There goes that loss.

Another race?

I've got the urge all of sudden to sign up for a race. I've early stopped going for runs and now that its getting cold, I know I won't get outside for any more runs. So maybe a 5 mile turkey trot or a 4 mile flying feather.

Decisions...

Moms

I think my mom and chao's mom could be friends. My mom just quit her job at Walmart and she asked me what she should do now that she's not working. I said to find a hobby and then she mentioned that there was a dancing club at the library. I automatically thought of chao's mom. I told her no dancing!

Maybe she should start to volunteer somewhere. At the hospital with babies or something...

My dog has a lot of nerve

So I'm sitting in bed and I've got the heating pad for my calves. I pull one leg out to scratch it and of a sudden my fat dog swoops in and plops on the heating pad where my leg was. Fucking Egg Roll!

I moved her fat ass and she barked at me. See, I'm top dog!

Day 1 of the two year plan starts today

I'm up at 430 am to go to Robert Morris fall ball. I must be crazy. Starting this weekend I have a lacrosse related event every weekend until thanksgiving!

So way to kick it off with D1 lacrosse! This is only the beginning.

Dog pictures of the day

Look who's invading my territory! In the first picture, she is slowly putting more and more weight on the hubster. She's also being rocked to sleep by pets. The second picture, we have no idea how she is even remotely comfortable, but she's still laying on the hubster.

Retail therapy

The hubster is the best! He likes to keep reminding me that after a company holiday event I told him in a drunken stupor that he was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Anyway, I've had a helluva week and was still a bit down since coming home from Boston. Still feeling overwhelmed with work and lacrosse stuff. So he surprised me with a gift card to go shopping with the condition I buy something I want and not need. God, I love that man.

So what did I get? An overpriced hoodie from lululemon! Honestly, I might never have bought anything from that store if not for him. It's super cute and I love it and the best part? It's not black!

Tomato-cide!

Last night's severe storm took it out on my poor plants.  Of course, I did not go outside, but when the hubster went to walk the dogs, he reported to me that all of my poor plants were knocked over. =(  Then this morning when I went to walk the dogs, I noticed that all of my tomatos had been knocked off the plant!  Oh no!  Some were not quite ripe yet.  They will have to sit in my kitchen before I eat them. Poor poor tomato.

Craft project!

To take my mind off my shitty week, I decided to do a craft project that I saw on pinterest

And my version:

Looks like its not level. I'll have to fix that. All it took was a can of spray paint, double sided tape, and letters from michaels. This was definitely cheaper than buy letters on line. Pretty pleased with it. I wonder if anyone will notice especially with how much door is situated an where people stand when coming in.

Worst week of my life

I had the worst week ever this past week.  There are just no words for it.  I'm beginning to really question my career.  I'm not sure I want to be working there anymore.  I saw this coming, but never thought I would get pushed over the edge.  Events like this week won't happen daily, but will happen maybe 4-5 times a year and I'm not sure I want to subject myself to that kind of punishment.  I'm not a masochist.  Let's just say the week ended with me crying on several occasions and a visit to HR.

Pizza and beer

Two beers after work before dinner to relieve a hellish start to the week was not a great idea because I scarfed own half a max pep from Gahanna pizza plus. Soooo good!

Just a little over a week before its all over.

The life cycle of a craft room

Ah, my craft room. It's a love/hate relationship. I love that I have a space to work on crafts, but I hate how it also doubles as a sporting equipment storage room. I have little to no problem with that except eventually it ends up being a storage area for everything! Today, I got fed up with its current state and cleaned it out. It had extra boxes of wood flooring, other flooring equipment, golf clubs, empty cardboard boxes, trash from craft projects and all sorts of crap. It's all cleaned up and organized now. Let's see how long it lasts.

Home improvement binge

Now that the floors are 90% done, I'm itching to undertake another project. Floating around my mind and my pinterest is a kitchen overhaul: countertops and floors.

The hubster and I went to lowes and home depot to price out some options. Originally, I wanted solid white corian countertops, but the hubster wasn't a fan. He said they were rural. What?!?! So we looked into quartz and marble. Still waiting on a contractor to call me back. We'll see if we follow through on it.

A cup of coffee and two chocolate chip cookies

With my two favorite puppies

The perfect way to end my weekend. Next week, bring it on. It's gonna be busy and not very relaxing.

Many uses of a flat iron

As an actual iron for shirts.  I remembered last minute that some big wigs were coming in to visit and I had to dress up.  Of course, my mint green button up was in my clothes basket and not hung up.  So I used my flat iron to iron the wrinkles out of the shirt.  Not the first time I've done that either.  Definitely works in a pinch.

Shopping!

Here's the dress I bought at Anthropologie today.  The hubster said it makes me look wide. =(  I really like the print and colors.  I'll let it hang in my closet and see what I think in a few days.

This is the shirt I bought at Anthopologie.  I swear it does not look as matronly as the picture makes it.  Even the hubster liked it and he thinks Anthropolgie is made for grandmas.  It looks great with black or white pants.  I just like the tropical feel that the print has.

I'd post the picture of the shirt from Express, but their stupid site won't let me copy the image url and I'm too lazy and tired tonight to make anymore effort.  Oh well, you can see it when I wear it =)
