Chocolate Milk

I love chocolate milk.  Yes, it makes me sound like a child, but after reading some articles on the benefits of chocolate milk for exercise recovery and being recommended it by many friends, I was hooked.  I love drinking chocolate milk after my long runs and grueling playday/tournaments for reffing.  Yes, officiating is hard!

Anyway, I'm headed to New Jersey tomorrow and am planning my 10 mile run for Friday.  I figure I don't want to worry about having delicious chocolate milk after my run while at my cousin's, so I went to Kroger after work to pick some up.  I'm standing in front of the dairy section and I reach in to grab the Hershey's chocolate milk.  I turn it over to look at the ingredients.  At this point, a man behind me reaches for some chocolate milk of his own (Nestle) and proceeds to tell me, "It's chocolate, it's milk, it's chocolate milk".  I am stunned.  All I can do is smile as he walks away.

Yes, I know it's just chocolate milk, but I had the un-enjoyable experience of drinking chocolate Muscle Milk which is NOT chocolate milk after a run while on a business trip.  It was either that or Yoohoo in the hotel sundry store.  The bottle said chocolate milk shake too!  I wanted to be damn sure I was buying chocolate milk.  Anyway, I'm sure I looked silly looking at the ingredients of chocolate milk, but did I become one of those people?  You know, the ones who preach to you about all the preservatives and cards you are eating.  You know, "OMG, do you know how many grams of sugar are in that strawberry frosted pop tart?"  Because I am definitely not one of those people.
