It could not have been more apparent on Monday that I am getting old. I'll be the first to admit that I do not stretch before or after working out except when taking a class or playing in a lacrosse game/scrimmage (only because everyone else is doing it). Well that needs to change. After my 9.4 mile run, my legs were dead which was forseeable, but later in the day, my leg/hip was bothering me. I'm pretty sure it was/is my hip flexor. It's hurt before, but not as bad as yesterday. I need to start stretching. The hubster yells at me when I don't and I should know better. I guess I'll have to start this week.
On another note, I need to find a better way to recover from my long runs. Currently, I drink a glass of chocolate milk after the run and that's about it. I need to do more because I'm starving for the rest of the day, I crave soda and give in to binge eating and soda which ruins all the great things that come from running. For example, yesterday, I dropped about 2.5 lbs from my run, but when I weighed myself this morning I was higher than my pre-run weight! WTF, it had to be the Skyline I had for lunch and the beer and chicken parm I had for dinner. In my defense, I did not finish my usual order of two cheese coneys and 1/2 order of chili cheese fries! I blame the dinner. The wedding soup I had with my meal was way salty. Maybe it's all water weight....
