Sleepless Nights

If you talk to the hubster, he will tell you that I almost never have any problems falling asleep at night.  Usually, I turn off the light and I'm snoozing within 15 minutes.  I fall asleep reading and watching TV all the time, but these past two nights have been pretty restless.

It's weird because right around 9:00/9:30 I can feel my eyelids getting heavier and the sleepiness settling in, but when I finally go to bed around 11:00, something has happened and I'm not that sleepy.  My body tells me I'm tired, but my brain doesn't want to fall in line.  It's been taking me an hour or two to fall asleep and then I wake up in the middle of the night or 30 minutes before my alarm is set to go off.  The sleep is not restful at all.

Nothing has really changed within the last few days or even weeks.  I wonder if my brain is subconsciously worried about something.  The only thing I can think of is the drive to New Jersey tomorrow.  I'm not looking forward to it and there is some apprehension about falling asleep on the drive knowing now that I have not gotten a good nights sleep in the past two nights.

Hopefully, tonight I'll be back to my normal self.
