Are you Asian?

In my experience, I think that Asians as an ethnic group are pretty easily identifiable.  Small stature, yellow skin, slanted eyes, sleek black hair, all giveaways that you are looking at an Asian.  Even though we may all look alike to some people, specific Asian groups can most always identify their own kind.  I feel that I can tell the difference between a Korean and a Japanese person vs a Vietnamese person vs a Philipino.  I might be a little rusty since I moved to the midwest, but I sure as hell can tell who is Asian and who is not.

Well, apparently, there is some question about whether I am an Asian or not.  I went to a Japanese restaurant for lunch today since I had a won a bet and a coworker was treating me.  (That in itself is worth it's own post)  A nice looking Asian (I'm thinking Chinese) seated up and promptly asked me if I was Asian.  I stumbled in my answer because I had never been asked that before.  I've been asked if I was Korean or Hawaiian or Chinese, but never just the general Asian.  Come on guy, it's pretty obvious.  Recognize your own kind.  Perhaps you need to visit the motherland to get reacquainted with others since you've obviously spent way too much time in Heath, OH.
