We haven't heard very good things about A&T U-verse or their internet so we were hesitant to switch when we were still playing WoW. Since it's been a year and half since we've played and there are no new games on the horizon that pique our interest or require a steady fast internet connection, we decided to bite the bullet and switch!
Installation happened yesterday and took 3.5 hours. First off, the cable guy was late and secondly, apparently our phone jacks were all wired incorrectly (which I find hard to believe, but we've never had a land line so who knows?). That's what took so long. After I got home from officiating a Lucky Lax summer session game and cooking dinner. I finally got to sit down and check out my new cable. The interface on the screen and remote are different than Insights and feels foreign, naturally. It will take a little bit to get used to it, but there are already some check marks in the pluses column.
- We can record up to 4 shows at time
- Setting up series recording is much simpler
- The controls for watching DVRed shows are much nicer
- Crime and Investigation Channel - I think I will live on this channel
- And last, but not least, we get BBC America!!!!
Why is this the best feature? It is for two reasons, one for the hubster and one for me. For ME, LAW AND ORDER: UK! It's been taunting me for a few months now. The hubster did point out that it would be different because UK laws are different, but who cares? I love Law and Order. For the hubster, the original Top Gear. We both like this show and I have to admit the US version is lacking.
We get much more features and channels for the about the same price we paid for Insight's service. The internet speed is pretty much the same and not noticeably different. We're happy with the switch and I hope we stay that way.
