The hubster and I have been trying to decide what kind of golf clubs to get for a few weeks. We finished our second lesson two weeks ago and are scheduled for our third next week. I'm going golfing with coworkers today and yesterday, decided to just buy the cheapest set we could find. People keep telling us that at this level, the clubs really don't affect your game. So we hit up Dick's after perusing the Nordstrom Anniversary Pre-Select Sale. I got this set of clubs: Acuity Voltage.
I picked the set with the least number of hybrids purely because I read somewhere on the interwebs that hybrids are bad. We'll see about that. I admit that I also picked it because it was semi-gender neutral. I didn't really want light pink or light blue.
We got this set for the hubster. He's much less picky than I am, but I still forced my opinion on his choice. I picked out a set similar to this: Walter Hagen MS2
We got him the older version of this set: Walter Hagen T3. It was the cheapest set and we got an additional 10% off for buying the display. SOLD! We also picked up some cheapo golf balls and tees. We'll see how these work out for us, but I'm happy with what we bought. Now to try them out today. Hopefully, the lessons pay off. I'm hoping at least the get the ball into the air at least once a hole.
