So when I came back to San Diego last month, I landed and found in my email, two paypal payments that were not authorized by me. It was definitely a WTF moment x 10. I immediately opened disputes against these fraudulent chargers. The process was painless except that it takes along time, but I don't think that's Paypal's fault.
I initiated proceedings on November 15 and finally got a resolution last night. Two weeks, not too bad. I got my $40+ back, but I feel so violated. I don't know how they got my information. It didn't surprise me that after I googled the seller it was linked to a online MMORPG. I left that world a long time ago. And the kicker is that they charged me pounds and not dollars.
I'm glad I got my money back, but I'm going to be wary using Paypal in the future. I didn't even feel this bad when my gmail got hacked. Passwords and security questions have been changed, but the feeling is totally different when it involves money.
