I had my first high school game of the season yesterday and I thought it went well. I called the game consistently and tight. It was a very close, physical, and intense game. The score kept switching back and forth between teams. Final score was 19-18 with 8 cards!
The real reason I've been up since 7:30 on a Sunday is because there is some confusion over whether a double yellow was given to a player. I received an email last night about this and I went back to look at my card and didn't see any. However, when I took a closer look, the "1" in my "18" looked much fainter than my other numbers. Causing me to doubt whether the "1" was from a previous game that didn't get thoroughly erased or if was really written down. Hopefully, my partner can confirm for me. I'm just feeling frustrated and upset over my oversight of this. I truly believed that it was an 18 for the entire duration of the game. With the card count climbing, I was cognizant of the who was receiving them.
I'm still waiting for my partner's information about the cards and then maybe get the coaches involved. It just sucks to be in this position, and this is going to stick with me for a while. I'm imagining this will take at least a week to get over and shrug it off.
