The hubster and I are celebrating our third anniversary at Disneyland, but decided to do a mini celebration the day of our actual anniversary which was last Friday. We opted for something a little more casual than our fancy anniversary dinners. We're saving that for Disney. We went to Cap City Diner and it was delicious.
A coworker recommended the fried chicken there when he heard that I constantly crave it. It did not disappoint. The chicken is coated/covered/dipped/something in honey before being fried because you can definitely taste a sweetness to it. It made it special and very delicious. I must confess that the best part was the mashed potatoes and gravy. The gravy is really good.
I tried to convince the hubster to get the meatloaf since everyone I've talked to has recommended it. He wouldn't budge once he found out it had mushrooms in it. Ugh, I bet he wouldn't even notice. He went with his usual cheese steak.
He didn't really like it this time and after tasting my chicken, I think he'll be ordering the fried chicken too for future visits. What a copy cat! We ended up going to see "The Help" later that evening. I haven't read the book, but am on the waiting list at the library. It was pretty funny and even the hubster liked it for being a chick flick. Overall, a mellow way to celebrate our third year of marriage. Can't wait for the "real" celebration.
