On the box, these two cake mixes look very similar. They both advertise the rainbow sprinkles and pudding in the cake mix. I think the similarities end there.
The hubster and I wanted cupcakes; him to eat, me to put into my cupcake holder. I went to the store Sunday night to buy the mix and frosting. The funfetti which we usually get was not on sale. I was willing to pay full price, but out of the corner of my eye, I saw the Betty Crocker version on sale. I stood there for 5 minutes contemplating what to do. Undecided, I called up the hubster to get his take. He said it didn't matter. After some more indecision, I bought Betty Crocker. I knew it wasn't going to be good as the original, but I had to save $0.69. I had to try it.
I was right. It's not as good. They are much drier and the rainbow/funfetti-ness is not as vibrant or abundant. Next time, I see Funfetti on sale for a $1I'll have to stock up. I've learned my lesson.
